Lee Savage
Case Study

Lee Savage: ft. Art Direction & Photography

Inspired by the artistic philosophies of conceptual artists Sol LeWitt and Donald Judd and influenced by the architectural forms encountered in her interior design based background, Savage re-imagines the clutch as art object in her inaugural collection. Starting with sketches, Savage creates mock-up models out of Bristol board in her New York City studio before working closely with the master Italian craftsmen to produce each clutch. Using rarified metals and the finest European leathers and overseen by Savage’s characteristic attention to the specificity of detail each design requires, the result is a collection that is as bold as it is sophisticated.
